Sundays at The Bull
The Sunday roast
people travel for.
One of the best roasts in Sussex. Locally sourced meats, duck-fat potatoes, real Yorkshire puddings, and gravy made with the bones. Booking is essential.
The Roast
Three meats, one vegetarian, every trimming.
Roast sirloin of Sussex beef. Roast loin of pork with proper crackling. Roast leg of lamb with mint sauce. And, for once, a vegetarian option people without dietary requirements actively order: a roasted celeriac, butterbean and wild mushroom pie.
All served with duck-fat roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, a Yorkshire pudding the size of a small hat, and gravy made from the day's bones. Add cauliflower cheese or pigs in blankets if the moment calls for it.
Sunday lunch at The Bull runs from noon until late afternoon. By 2pm it is full. By 3pm it is louder. The fires are lit from October to April.
