The Bull menu with a glass of wine and warm sourdough

Welcome

A 16th-century coaching inn, reimagined.

For four hundred years, The Bull has stood on the village green at Newick, first as a stop for pilgrims walking between Winchester and Canterbury, now as a chef-led pub with nine boutique rooms above.

Real beams. Four log fires. Locally sourced Sussex produce, cooked properly. A bar that takes wine, beer and coffee equally seriously. And rooms designed for the kind of weekend you wish was a week.

Food & Drink

Local Sussex produce. Properly cooked.

Our kitchen is built around what is best from Sussex this week, vegetables from neighbouring farms, fish landed in Newhaven, meat from the local butcher. The menu changes constantly. The standards never do.

Add a 200-bin wine list, a proper cask ale offer, and the kind of cocktail bar you do not expect to find in a village pub. That is why we are the national winner of the Shepherd Neame Best Food Offer 2025.
